Big news from Stratford-upon-Avon this year. This summer, the Royal Shakespeare Company is welcoming some exciting talent to The Other Place stage. Daniel Raggett, known for his powerful, critically acclaimed take on Edward II, is back to direct a bold new production of Macbeth. This time, he’s joined by Outlander star Sam Heughan, stepping into the iconic title role in his RSC debut. Starring opposite him as Lady Macbeth is the incredible Lia Williams, whose work in The Crown and on stage in Skylight has earned her both Olivier and Tony nominations.
If that wasn’t enough to get Shakespeare fans buzzing, director Whitney White will be bringing a whole new energy to Stratford with All Is But Fantasy. This dynamic piece reimagines four of Shakespeare’s most famous characters through the lens of music and modern storytelling. Set across two immersive gig-theatre performances, the show fuses live rock, pop, indie, and gospel for a fresh and electrifying night at the theatre.
This season feels like a brilliant mix of bold, classic storytelling and contemporary performance. Whether you’re drawn to the timeless tragedy of Macbeth or curious about the vibrant, musical world of All Is But Fantasy, there’s something pretty special happening at The Other Place.
