Ferry: Ferries go from a number of places on the West coast of Scotland. You'll get some stunning views, see some sea life (maybe dolphins!) and mingle with the locals

Car: You actually don't need to leave your car if you want to go to Skye as there's a bridge connecting it to the mainland! This makes it much easier to visit on your own terms

Public Transport: You can get the bus to Portree from Inverness. It takes around 4 hours and will provide amazing views throughout.

Train & Ferry: Another idea is getting the train to Mallaig and ferry from there. You'll go over the Harry Potter Glenfinnan Viaduct!
